I bought new parts to tidy up the engine bay. Since the shop performing the engine swap had a lot of parts from the Golf 6 R / Audi S3 8P in stock, they mainly used what they had on hand.
One day, while chatting with Matthew (@mih11mi6), I learned that he had a similar problem. It wasn’t caused by a missing hose bracket, but rather by the use of an incorrect coolant hose from the PQ35 platform. In the PQ35 (e.g., Scirocco), apart from the hoses being longer and shaped differently, there is a specific T-piece (a T-shaped connection of pipes/hoses). Because of this, the whole thing doesn’t fit very well with the MQ350 0A8 gearbox selector in the PQ25 chassis – during gear changes, the selector can actually crush the overly long coolant hose:

I also decided to reinstall the factory PCV system instead of the PCV Delete Kit. Opinions on the internet are divided, but I’ve seen quite a few high-power Polos running the factory PCV, so everything should be fine.
