The factory finish of the boot recess leaves much to be desired – it is only protected by a basic layer of primer, which is easily damaged.
Due to the visible scratches from the boot shelf and the planned installation of the battery, I decided to renew this surface – this would be more difficult later on due to the cables.
For the purpose of painting, the trunk floor was cleaned, after which I removed the rubber cap – this is where the plus cable to the battery will pass in the future.

The cavity was painted in the body colour (Shadow Blue LD5Q). The existing soundproofing held up very well, so it stayed in place. I plan to further soundproof this space with soundproofing mats, but that’s classically at a later date.
