After changing the engine from 1.4 to 2.0, I was missing the air filter box mounting in the engine compartment. It didn’t work out with the large box from R32, so to make it simpler, I decided to do it like in the factory Polo 6R R WRC Street. Meanwhile, I saw on Facebook that the factory filter housing is perfectly sufficient for power levels of around 360HP / 500 Nm, which seems quite adequate for a Polo-type car for regular city driving.
To properly mount the air filter, you need the sheet metal bracket 6R0129728, which is screwed on with two nuts N10609206. My previous 1.4 engine (CGGB) had an air filter on the engine, so I simply ordered the necessary parts.
