Project: Polo 2.0
(2.0 TSI Swap)
CDL engine dropped into the body
The engine dropped into the Polo. Needed to change the oil filter, as the oil filter base with adapter did not fit the front belt. A shorter oil filter came to the rescue 🙂
Starter 1.1 KW for 6-speed manual transmission
I managed to find a almost new Bosch 1.1 KW starter in perfect condition and good money.
Sound absorbers PR-TA2
The factory soundproofing and thermal insulation from the R WRC Street version of the 2.0 TSI/TFSI engine dropped into the Polo.
New intercooler – comparison
Comparison of the factory intercooler from the Polo 6R GTI 1.4 TSI / 6R R WRC Street 2.0 TSI / 6C GTI 1.8 TSI to the Wagner Competition intercooler.
Old engine removed
Bye bye 1.4 CGGB! It’s been a pleasant and trouble-free almost 10 years together!
06A to 06F oil filter housing conversion
The oil filter from the 2.0 (06A) on a plastic base has been replaced by a normal filter from the 1.8T (06F).
Intake Manifold Runner Flap Delete Kit
Swirl flaps were removed from the intake manifold – I used a ready-made kit from the TafMet store.
Cleaning the intake valves
Intake valves of my future 2.0 TSI EA113 engine have been cleaned up a bit.
1.8T oil pump conversion
Given the numerous logbooks of much more powerful designs based on the EA113, I decided to throw the oil pump from the 1.8T in my car as well, just to be safe.
