While browsing products on Amazon, I came across an interesting tool – a ratcheting brake caliper piston tool. The price starting at around $25 seemed quite high to me, especially since similar models, sometimes even more expensive, were getting quite a few negative reviews from users.
Fortunately, I found exactly the same model on AliExpress at a much better price – less than $12! When I bought it, it only had a few positive reviews, but I decided to take the risk.
The tool is made decently enough – for this price you can’t expect miracles. It worked perfectly for pushing pistons back in my Brembo 17Z calipers. The ratcheting mechanism really makes the job easier – you don’t have to struggle with turning the tool like with traditional tools.
As a tool for someone who isn’t a typical mechanic and only changes brake pads in their own car once in a while, I don’t see the point in spending more money on more professional tools. This budget tool from Ali is more than enough for anyone who likes to tinker with their car.
