In my opinion, not an entirely well-thought-out solution, as the silicone tube used in place of the factory accordion air guide is fitted onto the original air channel, which directs a significant portion of air directly into the engine compartment instead of the filter.
BMC intake systems are equipped with cotton air filters that require periodic cleaning using oil cleaning kits. Air filter maintenance is recommended every 20,000 km.
