How to install centre vent temperature sender (G191 sensor) in Polo 6R

G191 sender is required by Climatronic heater, so if you want to retrofit Climatronic instead of manual heater you need to install this in centre vents.

Function: Controls air distribution between defroster and footwell as
well as the fresh air blower speed dependent upon the vent temperature.

Location

The location of the G191 temperature sensor:

If you had manual air conditioning before, there is a rubber plug in the plastic housing of the center vent instead of the temperature sensor.

  • Green wire from G191 T2el/1 –> T20/12
  • Yellow wire from G191 T2el/2 –>T20/11

After installing Climatronic heater I had one fault from center outlet temperature sensor (because I didn’t have it):

Installation

Now you can install new centre vent temperature sender – G191-.

  • When installing, moisten rubber seal on centre vent temperature sender -G191- with oil.
  • Push connector onto centre vent temperature sender -G191-.
  • Turn centre vent temperature sender -G191- 90°
