First carry out the following work
Extract refrigerant
The air conditioning system will have to be evacuated. For example, with with air conditioner service station -VAS 6007A- before opening refrigerant circuit.
Disconnect battery
Remove parts to access the heater
Swapping the heater is quite simple, but in order to replace it, first remove the dashboard.
Remove dashboard
Remove air filter
it is necessary for some engines, e.g 1.4 CGGB.
Remove right plenum chamber cover (intake manifold)
Remove dash panel cross member
Remove heater and air conditioning unit
Install new heater unit (Climatronic)
Install in reverse order of removal
Fill coolant expansion tank of cooling system
I bought two 1.5l bottles of febi coolant and 4 liters of distilled water – maybe later it will be useful ; -)
I did not buy expensive coolant on purpose, because soon my radiators will be dismantled anyway (when changing the engine).
Install G191 sensor
Install new wires
Refill AC refrigerant R134a
