Info about PTC (high-voltage heater)

In vehicles with a high-voltage system, the high-voltage heater (PTC) is used as a supplementary heater.

It’s mounted from factory mainly in TDI Polos, because cars with a diesel engine are heating up more slowly, so their heater has an supplementary heater AKA auxiliary air heater (PTC) . PTC takes more electricity, so it requires a good battery and an alternator with a larger capacity than the standard one (pay attention to this if you intend to retrofit it in a gasoline engine).

air distribution housing -1-
6Q0819875E (6Q0 819 875 E)

To install PTC in heater without this from factory, you need to replace your air distribution housing to 6Q0819875C or 6Q0819875E:
