Control arm bushings can be removed and fitted in 2 ways – with a puller with bushings on the bolt, or with a hydraulic press. Most garages use a hydraulic press for this, but budget presses are no good and the better ones take up a lot of space… According to the manual, the bushings are pulled with a special puller, which cannot be easily ordered in Poland. There used to be a replacement from ASTA, but this is also currently unavailable.Initially, Firstly I wanted to buy a Chinese universal kit containing different sizes of bushings and a few screws, but these have become considerably more expensive recently, plus they have had a lot of negative comments. Finally, I found a WAR 231 puller on allegro – from the Polish company MARK-MOTO – designed typically for bushings 1J0407181 / 8N0407181B:

The puller looks quite solid, the nut has a bearing washer, and the bolt itself is still fine after removal and insertion of the bushing. To prevent the threads from stripping so much I lubricated the bolt with lubricant before use, and instead of turning the spanner I use an impact spanner for this.

Here you can see the puller in action.
