Some time ago I bought clone of latest VCDS HEX V2 on aliexpress. I wanted to have more labels and newest cable (because I had earlier version 12.12 and 15.7). Unfortunately, from the very beginning there were problems.
Firstly VCDS detected random faults with random description. Eg. after Climatronic retrofit I didn’t had installed G191 sensor, but VCDS sometimes showed rear right lamp error in my Climatronic 😵.
Another time it showed fault in drivers side door controller — also in Climatronic Fault Codes… 🤥 Practically something different every time.
Secondly I couldn’t correctly save long coding. For example if i put this coding:7CBF08F32C0803380F0011FB8DF0F00060EF60EF608060D0B00000030820
then I received:BF08F32C0803380F0011FB8DF0F00060EF60EF608060D0B0000003082000
the first two numbers disappeared and 00 was added to the end. A cheap chinese clone definitely had trouble with saving long coding in my 6R. In this way I disabled my alarm, central locking, cornering lights etc… 💩
Thirdly there were no labels, ASAM data etc.:
and it showed that function ‘Auto-detect’ is not supported by the gateway in my 6R:

I wrote to aliexpress seller, and he said my car is too old for 18.2. and he wanted to sell me 12.12 for 16.50 USD 🙈But I was mean and clicked the magic “open the dispute” button 👿
Today I received full refund from AliExpress to my bank account.
So the best is throw it away. But firstly i was scared when I seen taillight fault in my Climatronic 🤣
WTF Checked it again, and. Wow, now I have broken door controller 💩 Then I realised, fault descriptions are totally random. So I can’t recommended this, and save money to original VCDS 😇
